Eric Tomlinson has previously played for the Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans, New York Jets, and Houston.
Tomlinson attended the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana, along with 19 other tight ends from colleges. He had an average overall performance, placing tenth in the bench press and ninth in his position group in the 40-yard dash.
Tomlinson participated in the pro day at UTEP on April 9, 2015, and he repeated the majority of the combined drills there. He was able to outperform his performance from the day of the combine and improved his 40-yard, 20-yard, and 10-yard dash times (4.77s, 4.82s, and 4.93s, respectively).
Tomlinson joined the Philadelphia Eagles after going undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft. On September 4, 2015, he was discharged during the last round of roster cuts.
