Corliss Waitman is a professional football punter for the National Football League’s Denver Broncos. He stands 1.88 meters tall and weighs 95 kilograms. He went to Milton High School, where he played football in high school. From 2014 through 2018, he played collegiate football for the South Alabama Jaguars at the University of South Alabama.
He changed universities in February 2019, going to Mississippi State University. In April 2020, the Pittsburgh Steelers signed Waitman as an undrafted free agent. He was re-signed to the practice squad after being released on September 5, 2020. On January 14, 2021, he agreed to a reserve/future contract. On May 3, 2021, that contract was waived.
The Las Vegas Raiders acquired him in July 2021. In November 2021, he was added to the practice squad of the New England Patriots. The Patriots later released him in December 2021, at which point the Pittsburgh Steelers signed him. He participated in his first NFL game in the team’s Week 16 defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs.
He was let go as of January 15, 2022. Two days later, the Denver Broncos claimed him off waivers. In the third round of the 2022 CFL Global Draft, the Edmonton Elks also selected Waitman. He was chosen as the Broncos’ starting punter on August 29, 2022.
