The Denver Broncos’ cornerback Faion Hicks competes in the National Football League. He is 87 kg in weight and 1.78 meters tall. He completed his high school education at Charles W. Flanagan, where he rushed for 1,356 yards and 13 touchdowns while compiling 75 tackles and seven interceptions on the defensive side of the ball. He was selected to the second team All-Broward County for his senior year by the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Following high school, he enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he played NCAA football for the Wisconsin Badgers. As a redshirt freshman in 2018, he played in 12 games and finished with 35 tackles, one interception, and three passes defended. In 14 games he played in 2019, starting 12, he recorded 32 tackles and one pass defense.
After the season in 2020, he received a unanimous honorable mention for All-Big Ten, and in 2021, he started every one of the team’s 11 games at cornerback. He recorded 28 tackles and 10 passes defended, earning him honorable mention for the second year in a row in the consensus All-Big Ten list. He was chosen for the Wuerffel Trophy preseason watch list, which is an award presented annually to the collegiate football player “who best blends excellent community service with athletic and intellectual accomplishment.”
At the conclusion of his college career, he had made 108 total tackles while starting 39 of the 44 games he had played in as a cornerback. A seventh-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Hicks was selected by the Denver Broncos. He was released in August 2022 by the team and later re-signed to the practice squad.
