NFL linebacker Zach McCloud plays for the Denver Broncos of the league. He went to Santaluces High School where he played high school football. In spite of receiving offers from other colleges, he decided to join the University of Miami to play college football for the Miami Hurricanes. He had a strong first season as a true freshman in 2016, starting at linebacker in 11 of the 13 games and recording 37 tackles.

He also recorded 3.5 tackles for a loss, 2 pass breakups, 4 quarterback hurries, and 1 blocked punt. He participated in all 13 of the games as a sophomore in 2017, making 11 starts, and finished the year with 48 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks.

That season, he was one of the team’s top defensive players and was named ACC Co-Linebacker of the Week once. He played in all 13 games and made nine starts as a junior in 2018. He made 44 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks by season’s end. He participated in four games as a senior in 2019 and made one start. He finished the season with nine tackles and one PBU.
