He redshirted his freshman year at Fresno State after suffering an Achilles injury in the preseason. As a redshirt freshman, he started every game in 2017. As a result of his efforts, he received an Honorable Mention in the Mountain West. The third game of the season in 2018 saw him sustain a season-ending Achilles injury, terminating his campaign.
He had another injury in 2019, this time a season-ending Lisfranc foot ailment that kept him out of the final nine games of the season as a redshirt junior. He declared for the 2020 NFL Draft in January 2020, forgoing his last season of college eligibility. With the 181st overall choice in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Muti was chosen by the Denver Broncos.
At the start of training camp in July 2020, he was added to the active/non-football injury list. Six days later, he was added back to the active roster. He was released by the Broncos on August 30, 2022, and the following day he was added to the practice squad.
