William Sherman is an offensive tackle for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League. He is tall and heavy at 1.93 m and 136 kg. Terry Gambill was Sherman’s football coach at Allen High School, where he also participated in sports. After high school, he participated in collegiate football for the University of Colorado’s Colorado Buffaloes.
He redshirted his true freshman year in 2017, and as a redshirt freshman in 2018, he played in all 12 games, starting the final nine. He was given the team’s Offensive Trench Award and chosen for the National Football Foundation’s first team for the Colorado Chapter.
As a sophomore in 2019, he took part in 836 of 850 offensive plays, which is the most on the offense and second most on the squad as a whole. At right tackle, he made all 12 of his starts. He had started 21 of the 24 games he had played in by the time his college career was over. The offensive is tied for the second-most on the team coming into 2020 with 21 starts, the most on the team.
In the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Sherman was taken by the New England Patriots with the 197th overall pick. On August 30, 2022, the Patriots released him, and on September 1 of that same year, the Denver Broncos signed him to their practice squad.
