Mike Boone is an American football running back for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL).
He attended Baker County High School in Glen St. Mary, Florida, where he played wide receiver in high school football.
He contributed to Baker County’s 7-3 record as a senior in 2013, hauling in 57 receptions for 1,068 yards and 18 touchdowns, including 211 receiving yards in a single game, a school record.
Boone earned letters in both track and basketball. He made a commitment to the University of Cincinnati, passing on other schools including FIU and Idaho in favor of the Bearcats.
When starting running back Dalvin Cook suffered a shoulder injury in Week 15 of the 2019 campaign against the Los Angeles Chargers, Boone saw more playing time as a result. Boone ran the ball 13 times for 56 yards and two scores during the 39-10 victory.
Boone ran 17 times for 148 yards and a touchdown in Week 17’s 21-19 loss to the Chicago Bears. Boone had 273 total rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns at the end of the 2019 season.
Boone and the Denver Broncos agreed to a two-year contract on March 18, 2021. On September 1, 2021, he was put on injured reserve to begin the season. He became operational on October 16. On October 24, 2022, Boone was placed on injured reserve due to an ankle injury.
