Caden Sterns attended Cibolo, Texas’ Steele High School. Jordan Stern, who played for Oklahoma State University after high school (2010–2013), was Stern’s older brother and a star two-way player. Caden made 235 tackles and 11 interceptions in his career.
He was chosen to participate in the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, where he took home the MVP award and the Pete Dawkins Trophy.
Sterns began each of Texas’ 13 games as a true freshman in 2018. After making 62 tackles, four interceptions, and one sack, he was voted the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year and first-team All-Big 12.
The Denver Broncos selected Sterns in the fifth round, 152nd overall, of the 2021 NFL Draft. Sterns entered into a binding contract with the Broncos on May 11, 2021. Sterns was placed on injured reserve on October 28, 2022.
