Nick Allegretti is a fourth-year American football guard in the NFL. He initially entered the league with the Kansas City Chiefs in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft as the 216th overall pick.
Allegretti, who is a Super Bowl LIV winner, started his football journey in his native hometown, Frankfort, Illinois, before becoming a professional.
He went to Lincoln-Way East High School, and as a multi-sport athlete, he competed in football and wrestling. Allegretti’s contribution as an offensive lineman earned him an all-state selection twice. He was also a state finalist as a wrestler.
Allegretti enrolled at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he played four years of college football for the Illinois Fighting Illini.
During his time with the Illinois Fighting Illini, Allegretti served as an offensive lineman. He made his collegiate debut in the 2014 season as a freshman. He spent the entirety of his collegiate career playing for the Illinois program, with the 2018 season serving as his final season with the Illini’s varsity team.
During his first year at Illinois, he participated in non-varsity activities. He then played in 48 straight games, including the final 36 of his collegiate career as a starter.
