American football quarterback Shane Buechele, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League, was born on January 8, 1998. Before moving to SMU, he played college football in Texas.
Buechele excelled in baseball and football when a student at Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas. He rushed for 1,805 yards and 21 touchdowns while also passing for 6,379 yards during his quarterbacking career.
Ben Hicks, who transferred to the University of Arkansas, was replaced by Buechele, who transferred to Southern Methodist University after graduating from Texas in the spring.
For the Mustangs, Buechele received the season-opening start against Arkansas State. In the 37-30 triumph, he completed 30 passes out of 49 attempts for 360 yards and one interception.
Buechele joined the Kansas City Chiefs on May 13, 2021, as an undrafted free agent after being passed over in the 2021 NFL Draft. On August 31, 2021, he was released from his obligations.
He was added to their practice squad the following day. On November 16, 2021, he was promoted from the practice squad.

Shane Buechele’s biological parents are Steve and Nancy Buechele. Steve Buechele, Shane’s father, is a current front-office executive with the Texas Rangers as well as a former third baseman in Major League Baseball.
Buechele played all nine seasons of his major league baseball career as a pitcher with the Texas Rangers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Chicago Cubs.
He received support from the New York Rangers after winning the Tom Grieve Minor League Player of the Year award in 1985.
