Deon Bush plays safety for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League. He weighs 91 kg and stands 1.83 m tall. In high school, he played football at Christopher Columbus High School. Later, he attended the University of Miami and played football for the Miami Hurricanes there.
As a true freshman in 2012, he played in 10, made 34 tackles, including 28 solo stops, and started six games at safety. Although he missed the first two games due to injury, he started three of his 11 games in 2013. As a senior, he made six tackles, including five unaided stops. He was one of the team’s top defensive players in 2015 after starting 12 of Miami’s 13 games.
At the 2016 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected Bush with the 124th overall pick in the fourth round. His first career tackle came in his third game after making his NFL debut in September 2016. On November 20, the day of his first start in his career, he recorded seven tackles. Six starts in eleven games, 22 tackles, and a pass breakup were all he had to show for his first campaign.
In March 2020, he renewed his deal with the Bears. He made his career debut by intercepting a pass in Week 2 of the 2020 campaign. On November 8, 2020, the team put him on the COVID-19 list and reserve list. He was then activated four days later. On March 28, 2022, Bush agreed to play for the Kansas City Chiefs.
