Deon Bush represents the Kansas City Chiefs as a safety in the National Football League. He played football during his high school years at Christopher Columbus High School.
Later, he attended the University of Miami, where he played football for the Miami Hurricanes.
As a true freshman in 2012, he took part in 10 games, recording 34 tackles, 28 of which were solo, and starting six of them at safety. Despite missing the first two games due to injury, he started three of his 11 games in 2013.
He made six tackles as a senior and had five unassisted stops. He was one of the team’s top defensive players in 2015 after starting 12 of Miami’s 13 games.
The Chicago Bears selected Bush with the 124th overall choice in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. In his third career game after making his NFL debut in September 2016, he recorded his first career tackle.
On November 20, he started the first game of his career and recorded seven tackles. With six starts in eleven games, 22 tackles, and a pass breakup, he completed his rookie season.
In March 2020, he re-signed with the Bears. He recorded the first interception of his career in Week 2 of the 2020 campaign. On November 8, 2020, the team placed him on the reserve/COVID-19 list; he was then activated four days later. On March 28, 2022, Bush inked a contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Michele Bush and Gary Bush are the supportive parents of Deon Bush and his siblings. Michele Bush is currently serving as an assistant principal at Coconut Palms K-8 Academy, which is located in Homestead. Bush is a former collegiate basketball player who attended the University of Miami and North Carolina Central.
Gary Bush was a wide receiver at Mississippi Valley State University. Due to his battle with cancer, he was compelled to take a leave of absence from his position as a science teacher at Miami Southridge High.
