Darian Kinnard plays for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League. He is a professional offensive tackle. He is big and heavy, standing 1.96 m tall and weighing 146 kg. He attended Saint Ignatius High School for the balance of his time in high school after spending his first year there at Dobyns-Bennett High School.
He played collegiate football for the Kentucky Wildcats while attending the University of Kentucky. He played in nine games and started two games as a true freshman, but in his sophomore season in 2019, he started all 13 of the Wildcats’ games at right tackle. He recorded 32 knockdowns and one penalty for the season in 706 plays.
He assisted in shattering school single-season records with 3,624 rushing yards, 36 rushing touchdowns, and 6.3 yards per carry. As a junior, he played in every one of the 11 games and was named to the Second and Third All-American (AP) teams, respectively. At the University of Kentucky, as a senior, he was the 12th Consensus All-American. He had started 39 straight games and played in 46 games overall by the time of his college career’s end.
He played right tackle on the “Big Blue Wall” and was an important part of the offensive line that won four straight Joe Moore Awards given to the nation’s best offensive line. In the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs selected Kinnard 145th overall pick.
