McKinnon was invited to the NFL Scouting Combine in 2014, where he raised his status by running unofficial numbers of 4.38 and 4.35 in the 40-yard dash (4.41 official, 2nd fastest among running backs) and topping all running backs in bench press reps with 32. With a wide jump of 11’0″ (3.35 m) and a vertical leap of 40.5″, he also demonstrated his athletic abilities (1.03 m).

Of all the running backs currently playing in the NFL, McKinnon performed the most bench press reps at the NFL Scouting Combine—32.
