Running back Jerick Deshun McKinnon, known by his moniker Jet, plays for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League.
The Minnesota Vikings selected him in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft while he was a student at Georgia Southern University.
He played for the San Francisco 49ers as well. McKinnon participated in both the high school track and field team and the football program at Sprayberry High School in Marietta, Georgia. On the football team, he played quarterback, running back, and wide receiver.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution chose the quarterback as the best in Georgia, placing him at the top of the list. He was selected to the first team of all-state athletes by the Georgia Sports Writers Association, and they also awarded him the VII AAAA Player of the Year.
He was a member of the Yellow Jackets football team for four seasons, and he was a starter in each of those years. To go along with his MVP honours at the National Underclassmen Ultimate 100 in his junior year, he was a member of a region championship-winning wide receivers squad.
With 1,500 passing yards and 1,300 rushing yards as a senior, he was named the Cobb County Touchdown Club Quarterback of the Year for 2009.
