Who Is John Bonamego?
John Frank Bonamego is an American football coach who currently works as a senior coaching assistant for the National Football League’s Los Angeles Rams.
Biography
John Frank Bonamego was born in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania on August 14, 1963. He has over two decades of expertise coaching at the collegiate and professional levels. He attended Central Michigan University and served as the team’s head coach from 2015 to 2018.
At the collegiate level, Bonamego has coached for Maine, Lehigh, and Army. He formerly worked as an assistant coach in the NFL for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Green Bay Packers, and New Orleans Saints.
When Bonamego disclosed his diagnosis of tonsil cancer on June 18, 2015, he said that cancer had been found early enough and was “extremely curable”. As of August 21, Bonamego had completed his radiation therapy at the University of Michigan Cancer Center in Ann Arbor.
Bonamego received his high school diploma from Paw Paw High School in Paw Paw, Michigan. His father served in the Army as an officer. Before he turned 18, he had resided in eight different zip codes, including military facilities in Italy and Ethiopia.
