Former player Greg Lewis is the running backs coach for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL).
Lewis attended Rich South High School in Richton Park, Illinois, which retired his No. 8 jersey in 2004 and later enrolled at the University of Illinois, joining the football team as a walk-on.
He began his coaching career as a coaching intern for the Eagles during the rookie mini-camp in 2012.
For the 2012 season under lead trainer Ron Caragher, Lewis was wide recipients mentor for the University of San Diego Toreros football crew that went 8-3 with the best 3 collectors going for 144 gets and 15 of the group’s 20 score passes.
Caragher became a lead trainer at San Jose State University in 2013, and Lewis joined Caragher’s staff in San Jose State as wide recipients mentor.
On February 19, 2014, Lewis was named the receivers coach at the University of Pittsburgh by lead trainer Paul Chryst.
In the wake of spending the 2015 season with the New Orleans Saints of the NFL as a hostile collaborator, Lewis was recruited by the Eagles as the group’s wide collectors mentor on January 20, 2016, and delivered on January 9, 2017.
Lewis was employed as the Kansas City Chiefs wide collector mentor in January 2017.
