Putin Age: How old is Vladimir Putin?

Vladimir Putin is 69 years old. He was born on 7 October 1952.

Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is the youngest of three children born to Vladimir Spiridonovich Putin (1911–1999) and Maria Ivanovna Putina (1911–1998) in Leningrad, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union (now Saint Petersburg, Russia).

Vladimir Putin’s grandpa, Spiridon Putin, worked as a personal cook for Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin. Putin’s birth was preceded by the deaths of two brothers born in the mid-1930s, Viktor and Albert.

During the Siege of Leningrad by Nazi Germany’s forces in World War II, Albert died in infancy and Viktor died of diphtheria.

President Vladimir Putin’s mother worked as a factory worker, while his father served as a conscript in the Soviet Navy during the early 1930s, serving in the submarine fleet.

His father was a member of the NKVD’s demolition unit during the early years of World War II. His service was eventually transferred to the regular army, where he was seriously wounded in 1942.

Putin’s maternal grandmother was assassinated by German invaders of the Tver region in 1941, and his maternal uncles vanished on the Eastern Front during World War II, putting Putin’s family at risk.

Putin began his education at School No. 193 on Baskov Lane, near his house, on September 1, 1960. He was one of only a few students in the class of about 45 who had not yet joined the Young Pioneer organization.

He began sambo and judo training at the age of twelve. He enjoyed reading Marx, Engels, and Lenin in his spare time. Putin attended Saint Petersburg High School 281 and speaks german fluently.
