Benjamin Géza Affleck-Boldt, simply known in the movie industry as Ben Affleck is an American actor and filmmaker who was born on August 15, 1972, at Berkeley, California in the United States and began his career at an early age when he starred in the PBS educational series “The Voyage of the Mimi”.
Ben’s family moved to Massachusetts when he was three. His family later moved and settled in Cambridge. His mother, Christopher Anne was a Harvard-educated elementary school teacher whiles his father was an aspiring playwright who was self-employed as a carpenter, an auto mechanic, a bookie, an electrician, a bartender and even as a janitor at Harvard.
Ben attended the Cambridge Rindge and Latin high school where he acted in theatre productions and was inspired by his drama teacher, Gerry Speca. Ben and his brother, Casey often attended theatre performances as they were surrounded by people who worked in the arts and were encouraged to make their movies at home.
Ben has starred in more than 50 films and won several awards throughout his career as an actor, writer, and director. As an actor, he received a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in the movie “Hollywood land” in 2006.
