Barry Hall was born on February 8, 1977, in Victoria, Australia. He began playing junior football in Broadford where he was raised. Aside from football, Barry also had an interest in martial arts and boxing as a young boy. He has often seen training in his dad’s garage where there was a makeshift boxing gym.
When Barry was 15 years old, he fought in 15 fights and won a state title. He later began playing for the Murray Bushrangers, a football club in Australia, in the TAC Cup. He caught the attention of talent scouts which made his interest in football high so he decided to focus on only football.
Somewhere in 2019, Barry made it known that he was going to make his professional boxing debut with the opponent being former rugby league footballer; Paul Gallen. Before the fight commenced, Barry said of Gallen “I know it’s been painted as a code war, but even the support I’ve been getting off rugby league people has been overwhelming, He’s not a very liked human being … so I’ve got a lot of support”.
In June 2021, Barry confirmed he was going to be in two fights. He is set to face Sonny Bill Williams in his second professional fight come March 23, 2022.
