Virginia Thomas was born in Omaha, Nebraska in the United States on February 23, 1957. She is an American attorney and currently married to the U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Clarence Thomas.
Virginia completed her University education at Creighton University School of Law in 1983. From 1985 to 1989, she was employed as an attorney and labour relations specialist at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
In 1991, she worked in the Legislative Affairs Office of the U.S. Department of Labor where she debated against comparable-worth legislation that would have mandated equal pay for women and men in jobs deemed to be comparable.
In 2009, Virginia started a nonprofit lobbying group she named Liberty Central. The group was aimed at organising conservative activists, issuing legislative scorecards for U.S. Congress members, being involved in elections and opposing what she termed the “leftist tyranny'” of President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats, and “protecting the core founding principles” of the nation.
In March 2022, some revelations showed Virginia urging White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, to help overturn the results of the 2020 USA presidential election and spread QAnon-based conspiracy theories.
