Anthony D. Gonsolin is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB).
He was a member of the Saint Mary’s Gaels baseball team in college. He was selected in the ninth round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers, and he made his MLB debut in 2019.
In Vacaville, California, Gonsolin attended Vacaville High School. He went 4–1 with a 2.60 earned run average as a senior (ERA). He enrolled and played college baseball at St. Mary’s College of California after being undrafted in the 2012 MLB draft.
He has a 3–3 record with a 3.86 ERA in 18 games as a senior in 2016. The Los Angeles Dodgers selected him in the ninth round of the draft.
Gonsolin was selected Minor League Pitcher of the Year by the Dodgers in 2018. In 2018, he made the transition from reliever to starter, going 10–2 with a 2.60 ERA in 26 starts.
Gonsolin debuted as a starter in the major leagues on June 26 against the Arizona Diamondbacks. After pitching four innings of relief in a 9-4 win over the Colorado Rockies on July 30, he earned his first professional save.
On August 5, he earned his first major league win by pitching six scoreless innings against the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a member of the Oklahoma City Dodgers and Tulsa Drillers in 2019.
