Shane Warne, born as Shane Keith Warne to Bridgette Warne and Keith Warne on September 13, 1969, at Upper Ferntree Gully, Australia was an Australian born cricketer who was known to be a right-arm leg spinner.
Warne had his high school education at Hampton High School and when he reached grade 9, he was offered a sports scholarship to transfer to Mentone Grammar where he finally graduated. He then attended the University of Melbourne where he played in the school’s Cricket Club.
He earned his first representative honours in the 1983 and 1984 cricket season when he played for the University of Melbourne Cricket Club. He pitched a mixture of leg-spin and off-spin and was a handy lower-order batsman.
In December 2006, Warne retired from his profession as a cricket player right after the end of the 2006-07 Ashes series at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
He died at the age of 52 of heart attack whiles he was away on holiday at a villa on the island of Ko Samui in Thailand on March 4, 2022.
