2022 Grammys: Who Won Best New Age Album?
Stewart Copeland & Ricky Kej’s collaborative album, “Divine Tides’ has won the Best New Age Album at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.
The album competed against “Brothers” – Will Ackerman, Jeff Oster & Tom Eaton, “Pangaea” – Wouter Kellerman & David Arkenstone, “Night + Day” – Opium Moon, and “Pieces Of Forever” – Laura Sullivan.
Stewart Copeland is an American musician and composer who rose to prominence as the drummer of the British rock band The Police.
He was born n Alexandria, Virginia in the United States of America and is the youngest of four children of Scottish archaeologist Lorraine Adie and Alabama-born CIA officer Miles Copeland Jr.
Beginning his musical career, Stewart returned to England and served as the road manager for the progressive rock band Curved Air’s 1974 reunion tour, and then as drummer for the band during 1975 and 1976.
He formed a band named The Police with lead singer-bass guitarist Sting and guitarist Henry Padovani (who was soon replaced by Andy Summers). Eventually, the band became one of the top bands of the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Ricky Kej on the other hand is a Grammy Award-winning Indian music composer and environmentalist.
Performing at venues in over 30 countries including at the United Nations headquarters in New York and Geneva, Ricky was named a UNCCD Land Ambassadorat the COP14 to raise public awareness about the challenges of land degradation, desertification and drought.
