Due to illness, Zoe Ball left her BBC Radio 2 breakfast program on Monday, April 4th. Zoe, who arrived unusually late, and her stand-in presenter, Ritchie Anderson, kicked off her breakfast show, informing listeners that Zoe had a flat tire on the way into the central London studios.
When she eventually took over her broadcast, listeners were concerned because she appeared to stumble when reading out the Radio 2 WhatsApp number, with several saying she sounded “shaky.”
Richie Anderson took over again 30 minutes later, while Zoe ‘disappeared’ during a song. He later informed listeners that Zoe was ill and had gone home.
Zoe’s departure came just a few weeks after she was forced to isolate herself after testing positive for Covid-19. Zoe was scheduled to be practicing for her role as host of the BBC’s Red Nose Day in March, but she tested positive for Covid after doing a lateral flow test that morning, forcing her to withdraw from her presenting obligations and isolate herself.
Zoe is the latest TV presenter to test positive for covid, following Holly Willoughby’s absence from This Morning due to a positive test.
