Luis Miguel Castillo is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds of the Dominican Republic. In 2017, he made his MLB debut.
Castillo signed as an international free agent with the San Francisco Giants in December 2011.
In 2012, he made his professional debut with the DSL Giants, pitching for the entire season, going 1–3 with a 3.31 ERA in 54.1 relief innings.
In 2013, he pitched for the Augusta GreenJackets, going 0–1 with a 0.64 ERA in 27 bullpen appearances, and in 2014, he pitched for the Augusta GreenJackets, going 2–2 with a 3.07 ERA in 48 relief appearances.
Castillo and Kendry Flores were traded to the Miami Marlins for Casey McGehee on December 20, 2014.
In July, he was promoted to the Jupiter Hammerheads after spending 2015 with the Greensboro Grasshoppers. Between the two organizations, he was 6–6 with a 3.20 ERA in 35 games (16 starts).
Castillo started the season with Jupiter and was later moved to the Jacksonville Suns. Castillo was dealt to the San Diego Padres on July 29, 2016, along with Jarrett Cosart, Josh Naylor, and Carter Capps, for Andrew Cashner, Colin Rea, and Tayron Guerrero.
After Rea was injured in his first start and was sent back to the Padres, he was assigned to the Marlins. After the season, the Marlins added him to their 40-man roster.
He was 8–6 with a 2.26 ERA in 26 games (24 starts) between Jupiter and Jacksonville.
