Dominican professional baseball pitcher Dauri Michell Moreta was born on April 15, 1996, in Comendador, Dominican Republic, and now plays for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB) (MLB).
Moreta signed with the Cincinnati Reds as an international free agent on March 16, 2015, after being released by the Detroit Tigers. The Reds of the Dominican Summer League were 1–2 in his first season with them, with a 1.69 earned-run average and 30 strikeouts in 21+3 innings.
He divided the 2016 season between the AZL Reds and the Billings Mustangs, finishing 3–3 with a 1.89 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 33+13 innings throughout the course of his two teams’ seasons.
Billings and the Dayton Dragons split the 2017 and 2018 seasons, with Billings going 12–2 with a 4.31 ERA and 45 strikeouts over 45+13 innings in 2017 and 4–3 with a 6.79 ERA and 79 strikeouts over 55+23 innings in 2018.
Moreta pitched for the Daytona Tortugas in 2019 and went 1–0 with a 2.35 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 57+13 innings. He played in the Arizona Fall League with the Glendale Desert Dogs after the 2019 season.
Moreta did not participate in 2020 since the Minor League Baseball season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Moreta pitched for the Chattanooga Lookouts and the Louisville Bats in the minor leagues in 2021, going 6–0 with a 1.02 ERA and 58 strikeouts in 53 innings.
