Mark Kolozsvary, full name Mark Daniel Kolozsvary is one of the professional baseball catchers with the Cincinnati Reds baseball team. Mark was born and raised in Florida on September 4, 1995, to mother, Holly Kolozsvary.
Mark Kolozsvary was a baseball player in high school. He was at Mount Dora Christian Academy in Mount Dora, Florida and later transferred to Tavares High School in Tavares, Florida for his senior year. When he completed high school, he enrolled at the University of Florida, where he played college baseball for the Florida Gators.
Mark was a member of the 2017 College World Series (CWS) whiles at the University. After college, he was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 7th round of the 2017 MLB draft. He agreed to play for the Reds and signed with the team. He made his professional debut that year with the rookie-level Billings Mustangs where he played in 28 games.
In 2018, he was assigned to play for the Single-A Dayton Dragons. He was promoted to the High-A Daytona Tortugas in 2019. He did not play in any game in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. When the minor league season began in 2021, Mark was assigned to the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts.
In August 2021, the Reds promoted him to the Triple-A Louisville Bats. The Reds added him to their active roster before the end of the 2021 season. He made his MLB debut for the Reds on April 20 2022.
