Kent Jeffrey Emanuel is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies in the United States (MLB).
He was a member of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill baseball team in college and made his MLB debut with the Houston Astros in 2021.
Woodstock High School in Woodstock, Georgia, was Emanuel’s alma mater. He was picked in the 19th round of the 2010 MLB draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates, but he did not sign.
Emanuel played collegiate baseball for the North Carolina Tar Heels at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 2011, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Falmouth Commodores.
Emanuel won the Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Year award in 2013. He was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 74th round of the 2013 MLB draft.
The Astros signed Emanuel on November 4, 2019. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, Emanuel missed the entire 2020 minor league season
On April 24, 2021, he made his MLB debut. Due to his positive test results for hydrochlormethyltestosterone, he was banned for 80 games on August 6, 2020. The Philadelphia Phillies took Emanuel off waivers on November 19, 2021.
