Ranger Suárez, full name Ranger José Suárez is a Venezuelan professional baseball player with the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team. He plays as a pitcher for the Phillies and has been with them since 2012. He has a height of 1.85 m and a weight of 98 kg.
Ranger was born and raised in the town of Carora in Venezuela on August 26, 1995. He happened to have had his non-professional baseball career in Venezuela. During the 2012 MLB draft, the Philadelphia Phillies signed him as an international free agent. He was given $25,000 as a signing bonus.
He made his professional debut that year at the age of sixteen for the Venezuelan Summer League (VSL) Phillies. For the 2015 minor league season, Ranger was assigned to the Rookie League GCL Phillies where he pitched in only six games that season because he has a left elbow strain.
During the 2017 season, he spent the season with the Class A Lakewood Blue Claws and he was named the Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Month for April 2017. He played for the Double-A Reading Fightin Phils in 2018 and in June of that year, he was promoted to the Triple-A Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs.
