J.T. Realmuto was born in Del City, Oklahoma, on March 18, 1991, making him 31 years old as of 2022. His father was a college baseball player for Southwest Missouri State, while his older sisters, Ryan and Amanda, played softball for Oklahoma State and Northwestern State, respectively.
John Smith, Realmuto’s uncle, was a two-time Olympic gold medalist wrestler. Realmuto’s mother Margaret drove him to his Little League Baseball games and other sporting events because his father David was often occupied teaching his older sisters’ softball teams.
Realmuto was a multi-sport athlete throughout his childhood, beginning with baseball at the age of five and then moving on to wrestling the following year. He began playing basketball and gridiron football in fourth grade, and he played tennis briefly in middle school.
Realmuto was a three-sport athlete for Carl Albert High School in Midwest City, Oklahoma, from 2006 to 2010. He was a shortstop, quarterback, and power forward for the baseball team, as well as a power forward for the basketball squad. The Carl Albert baseball and football teams also won state championships during Realmuto’s high school career.
On November 4, 2017, Realmuto married his bride, Alexis Taylor. Realmuto’s first child, a daughter, was born on July 10, 2018, just a few days before his first All-Star appearance. On July 11, 2019, their second daughter was born. The Realmutos live in Haddonfield, New Jersey during baseball season and have a home in Oklahoma City during the off-season. Realmuto is a devout Christian, as is his wife.
