Rhys Hoskins is an American professional baseball first baseman for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB). Hoskins played college baseball for the Sacramento State Hornets.
Hoskins was called up to the Major Leagues by the Philadelphia Phillies on August 10, 2017.
He made his MLB debut as a left fielder on the same day. He became the fastest player to hit ten career home runs 15 days later when he hit a home run in five consecutive games.
He set a new record for the fastest player to hit twelve home runs by doing it in only twenty-four games on September 2nd. He was also named National League Rookie of the Month for August.
Hoskins had four RBI on September 19th, bringing his total to 43 in his first 39 games, second only to Albert Pujols, who has 44 RBI in his first 39 games. Hoskins and Jake Arrieta, his recently signed teammate, have a strong bond.

Rhys Hoskins was born to Paul Hoskins and Cathy Reynolds. Both his parents, Cathy and Paul were both lawyers.
His mother, Cathy Reynolds was diagnosed with breast cancer and eventually died of the disease in 2009 when Rhys was about to celebrate his 16th birthday.
