To begin his professional career, Maton played for the short-season Williamsport Crosscutters and batted .252 with two home runs, 13 RBIs, 34 runs scored, and ten stolen bases in 58 games.
In 2018, he played for the Lakewood BlueClaws of the South Atlantic League, where he batted.256 with eight home runs and 51 RBIs in 114 games.
Before being promoted to the Double-A Reading Fightin Phils for the remainder of the season, Maton played his first season in the Florida State League with the Class A-Advanced Clearwater Threshers, where he hit .276 with five homers, 14 doubles, and 45 RBIs.
