He was first signed by the Texas Rangers of MLB as an international free agent in the year 2008. After some time he was then chosen by the Phillies in December 2014 during the Rule 5 draft.
When he began his playtime with the Phillies, his first three seasons were marked by a strong offensive performance which included an All-Star selection in the year 2016.
