Odubel Herrera is a Venezuelan professional baseball center fielder for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB).
Odubel was arrested and detained after a domestic violence incident was reported. The alleged incident occurred in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Major League Baseball placed the MLB star on administrative leave in accordance with the league’s domestic violence policy.
He was out for up to seven days as the incident was investigated, as per MLB policy.
According to an official statement uploaded to their social media page, local police in Atlantic City were able to confirm that it was Odubel who was arrested.
“Police officers responded to the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino, located at 600 Huron Avenue, on May 27, 2019, at 8:33 p.m., for a report of a domestic violence incident,” according to the statement.
“When authorities arrived, they discovered the victim, a 20-year-old lady from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, conversing with security officials.
The woman exhibited evident evidence of harm to her arms and neck after being assaulted by her boyfriend, David Odubel Herrera, during a quarrel, according to the statement.
