Jacob Andrew Barnes born on April 14, 1990, is an American professional pitcher in baseball for the Detroit Tigers currently. He has played with the likes of Milwaukee Brewers, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Angels, New York Mets, and Toronto Blue Jays.
His professional career started at St. Petersburg High School. Barnes was allowed to play baseball for Florida Gulf Coast University in college. He had a 1-4 record with a 4.58 ERA in 55 innings pitched during his junior year. He was drafted in the 14th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft by the Milwaukee Brewers.
Barnes made his professional debut with the Milwaukee Brewers in the year 2012. After spending the 2015 season in the minor levels, he was promoted to the 40-man roster.
On June 2, 2016, he was promoted to the big leagues. Barnes then went on to play for the Kansas City Royals, as well as other teams in the league, before settling with the Detroit Tigers of MLB.
