26-year-old Alex Michael Faedo was born on November 12, 1995, he is a Detroit Tigers professional baseball pitcher. Faedo attended Tampa, Florida’s Braulio Alonso High School.
He was 6–2 as a senior, with a 0.58 ERA and 68 strikeouts in 48 innings pitched. He was 8–2 with a 1.15 ERA as a junior and pitched a no-hitter.
Faedo was picked in the 40th round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft by the Detroit Tigers, but he did not sign and instead played collegiate baseball at the University of Florida.
The Detroit Tigers picked Faedo in the first round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft, 18th overall. He signed with the Tigers, but owing to his workload at Florida, he did not make his professional debut in 2017 and sat out the season.
Faedo started the 2018 season with the Lakeland Flying Tigers of the Florida State League’s Class A-Advanced division. On June 18, the Tigers sent Faedo to the Class AA Eastern League’s Erie SeaWolves.
Between the two organizations, he was 5-10 with a 4.02 ERA in 24 starts. Faedo returned to Erie to start the new year. In 22 starts with the SeaWolves in 2019, he went 6-7 with a 3.90 ERA and 134 strikeouts in 115+13 innings.
