The Detroit Tigers chose Faedo in the first round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft, 18th overall. He signed with the Tigers, but owing to his workload at Florida, he did not make his professional debut in 2017 and sat out the season.
Faedo began the 2018 season with the Class A-Advanced Lakeland Flying Tigers of the Florida State League. On June 18, the Tigers sent Faedo to the Class AA Eastern League’s Erie SeaWolves.
Between the two clubs, he was 5–10 with a 4.02 ERA in 24 starts. Faedo returned to Erie to start the new year. In 22 starts with the SeaWolves in 2019, he went 6–7 with a 3.90 ERA and 134 strikeouts in 115+13 innings.
After the 2020 season, the Tigers added Faedo to their 40-man roster.
The Tigers announced on December 19, 2020, that Faedo will have Tommy John surgery on his throwing elbow, putting him out for the entire 2021 season.
Faedo began the 2022 season at Lakeland, fully healed from surgery. Before being assigned to the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens, he had a 2.53 ERA in three outings for the Flying Tigers.
He was called up to the Tigers on May 4 after making only one start for Toledo and made his main league debut in the second game of a doubleheader against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He began and pitched five innings, allowing eight hits, two earned runs, one walk, and one strikeout. He was given a no-decision after leaving the game with the score at 2–2.
Faedo was sent back to Toledo after two starts. Following an injury to Michael Pineda, the Tigers called him up again on May 16. He started a game against the Tampa Bay Rays on May 16 near his childhood home and only gave up one run in 5+23 innings.
