Pitcher Andrew Scott Hutchison represents the Detroit Tigers in Major League Baseball as an American baseball player (MLB).
Before joining the Texas Rangers, he played for the Toronto Blue Jays, Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Phillies, and the Texas Rangers in Major League Baseball (MLB).
During the 2009 MLB Draft, the Toronto Blue Jays selected Hutchison in the 15th round. A year later, he was promoted to Class-A Lansing, where he remained for the remainder of that season.
In 1491 innings pitched, Hutchison had a 14–5 record, a 2.53 ERA, and 171 strikeouts in 2011. For Baseball America’s pre-season rankings for 2012, Hutchison was the Blue Jays’ ninth-best young prospect.
From the Fisher Cats, Hutchison’s contract was bought on April 19, 2012. They sent Hutchison to the Pirates for Francisco Liriano, Reese McGuire and Harold Ramirez on August 1.
On June 21, 2019, Hutchison was assigned to the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings by the Minnesota Twins. Hutchison was dealt with by the Los Angeles Angels in July 2019 for cash.
After the 2019 season, he was a free agent. In August 2020, he joined the American Association’s Milwaukee Milkmen.
Hutchison signed a minor league contract with the Detroit Tigers on February 28, 2021.
