Joe Jimenez is a Puerto Rican professional baseball pitcher for the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2017 and was an All-Star in 2018.
He was born on January 17, 1995, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and bats right and throws for his current team.
27-year-old Jimenez started playing in minor leagues after he signed with the Detroit Tigers as an undrafted free agent out of the Puerto Rico Baseball Academy in June 2013.
He played for the Gulf Coast Tigers in the 2013 season where he made his professional debut and spent the following year with the Connecticut Tigers.
His 2015 season occupancy with the Michigan Whitecaps saw Joe Jimenez going 5–1 with a 1.47 ERA, a 0.791 WHIP and 17 saves in 40 appearances for West Michigan, and was named the Tigers Minor League Pitcher of the Year.
