He was picked in the seventh round of the 2012 MLB draft by the Philadelphia Phillies after his junior year.
He made his professional debut in 2012 with the Low-A Williamsport Crosscutters and also pitched for the Single-A Lakewood BlueClaws, posting a combined 7-3 record and 2.50 ERA.
In 26 games with the High-A Clearwater Threshers in 2013, he has a 12-7 record with a 3.83 ERA. He pitched for the Reading Fightin Phils in Double-A in 2014, posting a 10-6 record with a 4.21 ERA and 86 strikeouts.
In 30 appearances in 2015, he split his time between Reading and Clearwater, posting a 2-1 record and 3.52 ERA.
