Blake Cederlind is an American professional baseball pitcher who currently plays for the Pittsburgh Pirates of Major League Baseball.
Cederlind was born on January 4, 1996. He made his MLB debut in 2020.
Cederlind went to high school in Turlock, California, where he played baseball alongside Brett Cumberland and Kevin Kramer.
During his time at Turlock High School, Cederlind also studied. During his senior season in 2014, he posted an 8-1 record, had an earned run average of 1.50, and hit.289 at the plate.
Following his graduation from high school and participation in the 2014 Major League Baseball draft, he was not selected and instead enrolled in Merced Collegiate, where he went on to play baseball for the college team.
Cederlind was 3–1 with a 7.89 ERA as a rookie at Merced in 2015. After the year, he was drafted 22nd overall by the Minnesota Twins but did not sign. In 2016,
he participated in 23 games (four starts) and had a 5–2 record, 3.75 ERA, and 63 strikeouts in 57+23 innings. After the season, the Pittsburgh Pirates drafted Cederlind in the fifth round of 2016.
Cederlind played for the West Virginia Power, Bradenton Marauders and Altoona Curve during the 2018 season before getting promoted to the Indianapolis Indians in August.
He finished 5–2 with a 2.28 ERA in 41 bullpen appearances for the three teams, striking out 55 batters in 59+13 innings.
In 2019, he was 4–4 with a 4.89 ERA in 49+2 innings thrown for all three clubs, striking out 54 hitters.
