Diego Castillo (born January 18, 1994) is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Seattle Mariners of the Dominican Republic (MLB). He formerly played for the Tampa Bay Rays in Major League Baseball.
Castillo signed as an international free agent with the Tampa Bay Rays in March 2014. That season, he made his professional debut with the Dominican Summer League Rays, where he pitched the entire season, going 3–3 with a 3.96 ERA in 25 innings.
In 18 relief appearances with the Hudson Valley Renegades and the Bowling Green Hot Rods in 2015, he had a combined 1–2 record and 3.03 ERA.
He pitched for both Bowling Green and the Charlotte Stone Crabs in 2016, going 3–6 with a 2.98 ERA in 60.1 innings pitched out of the bullpen. Castillo was a member of the Montgomery Biscuits and Durham Bulls in 2017.
After having a 2.76 ERA, 90 strikeouts, and 15 saves in 71.2 innings thrown, he was awarded the Rays’ minor league reliever of the year. After the season, the Rays added him to their 40-man roster. The Durham Bulls were where he started the 2018 season.
