Benjamin Joseph Gamel (born May 17, 1992) is a Major League Baseball outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He has previously played for the New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, Milwaukee Brewers, and Cleveland Indians in the Major League Baseball.
Gamel was taken in the 10th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft by the New York Yankees. He signed with the Yankees and debuted with the Rookie-level Gulf Coast Yankees.
He played for the Staten Island Yankees of the New York-Penn League’s Class A-Short Season in 2011 and the Charleston RiverDogs of the Class A South Atlantic League in 2012.
He started the 2013 season with the Class A-Advanced Florida State League’s Tampa Yankees before being promoted to the Class AA Eastern League’s Trenton Thunder.
He returned to Trenton in 2014 and played for the Class AAA International League’s Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in 2015. After the 2015 season, he was added to the Yankees’ 40-man roster.
