Travis Wade Swaggerty Jr. is an American professional baseball outfielder who currently plays for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Swaggerty was a member of the baseball team at Denham Springs High School in Denham Springs, Louisiana.

He batted.451 as a senior and was chosen to the Class 5A All-State team by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.

He was not taken in the 2015 Major League Baseball draft and went on to play collegiate baseball at the University of South Alabama.

In South Alabama, where Swaggerty received his undergraduate degree in baseball, he was recognized as a member of the All-Sun Belt First Team for two consecutive years, both as a freshman and a sophomore.

Prior to his junior year, Baseball America, D1Baseball.com, and Perfect Game all placed him on their respective first teams for preseason All-American consideration.

The Sun Belt Conference’s Preseason Player of the Year award went to Swaggerty in 2018.

The Pittsburgh Pirates picked Swaggerty with the tenth overall pick in the 2018 Major League Baseball draft.

He was sent to the West Virginia Black Bears of the New York–Penn League’s Class A Short Season. Swaggerty was selected as an All-Star by the Bradenton Marauders of the Florida State League in 2019.

He hit.265/.347/.381 with nine home runs, forty RBIs and 23 stolen bases in 121 games. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, he did not play in a minor league game in 2020.
