Allard was taken 14th overall in the first round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft by the Atlanta Braves. Lucas Herbert, a high school teammate, was also picked 54th overall by the Braves.

To begin the 2016 season, the Braves sent Allard to extended spring training. Allard played for the Rome Braves and the Danville Braves in 2016.
He pitched for the Mississippi Braves in 2017. Allard was invited to spring training the following year and started the season with the Gwinnett Stripers. For the Stripers, Allard pitched 109+ innings with a 2.80 ERA, 87 strikeouts, and 33 walks.
In August of 2015, Allard joined the Gulf Coast League Braves as a pitcher. He was shut down after three scoreless outings for back surgery, which was termed as a “minor back treatment.”
On July 30, 2018, he got promoted to the top leagues for the first time.
The next day, Allard made his major league debut against the Miami Marlins, pitching five innings and allowing four earned runs on five hits with two walks and one strikeout.
Allard, who was 20 years old at the time of his debut, became the first left-handed pitcher to win his first game since Charlie Vaughan in 1966.
Allard started the 2019 season in Gwinnett, where he went 7–5 with a 4.17 ERA in 110 innings pitched.
