Texas Rangers pitcher Dane  Anthony Dunning is an American professional baseball player (MLB). With the Chicago White Sox, he will make his MLB debut in 2020.

Dunning attended the University of Florida after graduating from Clay High School in Green Cove Springs, Florida.

 

Dunning pitched in 17 games as a freshman, with a 4.50 ERA. In his second season, Dunning began starting more games rather than being a reliever, and he finished with a 4.03 ERA in 16 appearances, 14 of which were starts.

Dunning returned to his freshman position as a reliever as a junior. Dunning pitched in 33 games, starting with five with a 2.29 ERA. Dunning pitched 15.1 innings in the 2016 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament.

The Washington Nationals selected Dunning in the first round of the 2016 MLB draft. After suffering a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament, Dunning underwent Tommy John surgery on March 18, 2019.

Dunning made his MLB debut against the Detroit Tigers on August 19, 2020. He got his first major league hit off Colorado Rockies pitcher Germán Márquez on June 1, 2021.

Dunning is half-Korean, with a Korean mother and an American father. He wants to play for South Korea in the World Baseball Classic.
