Corey Seager is an American professional baseball shortstop for the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB).
Corey was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, on April 27, 1994. He graduated from Northwest Cabarrus High School and went on to the University of South Carolina, where he received a baseball scholarship.
He was drafted in the first round of the 2012 Main League Baseball Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers, and he made his major league debut in 2015.
In his first two seasons in the Majors, he was named the National League Rookie of the Year and an MLB All-Star.
While leading the Dodgers to the 2020 World Series victory over the Tampa Bay Rays, he was named NL Championship Series Most Valuable Player and World Series MVP.
He enrolled at the University of South Carolina and received a baseball scholarship.
The Dodgers of Major League Baseball selected him as the 18th overall choice in the first round of the 2012 MLB Draft.
Seager was back on the field and starting at shortstop for the Dodgers by the start of the 2019 season.
He hit a home run on Opening Day, but battled for much of April, as one might anticipate from a man coming off two major operations.
