The Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball have signed pitcher Matthew Allen Peacock to a one-year contract. He formerly played for the Arizona Diamondbacks in Major League Baseball (MLB).
Peacock attended Saraland High. In 2011, he batted 3.42, 440, and 32 RBIs. Mentioned to All-State that he was undrafted in the 2012 MLB draft and enrolled in the USA.
Peacock did not play in 2013 and was redshirted. A 0-1 with a 6.10 ERA in eight bullpen appearances in 2014. Seen here in 2015 as a redshirt sophomore. As of 2016, Peacock had opted to work at his uncle’s sawmill.

In 2020, he was 8-4 with a 2.97 ERA in 21 games (20 starts) with the Jackson Generals. After the 2020 season, he was added to the 40-man roster.
On April 6, 2021, he was called up to the big leagues to replace an ailing Joakim Soria.
