Collin Kenneth Snider (born October 10, 1995) is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Kansas City Royals. In 2022, he made his MLB debut.
Snider attended Vanderbilt University and played baseball there. He played collegiate summer baseball with the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Yarmouth–Dennis Red Sox in 2016.
Snider was taken in the 12th round of the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft by the Kansas City Royals. Snider pitched for the rookie-level Burlington Royals and the Single-A Lexington Legends in his first season, with a 3.21 ERA in 17 appearances.
Snider returned to Lexington in 2018, pitching 76.0 innings in 29 games with a 5.57 ERA and 50 strikeouts. Snider spent the 2019 season between the rookie-level AZL Royals and the High-A Wilmington Blue Rocks, posting a 2.24 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 31 games with both organizations.
Due to the discontinuation of the minor league season due to the COVID-19 epidemic, Snider did not participate in any games in 2020. Snider pitched for the Double-A Northwest Arkansas Naturals and the Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers in 2021, posting a 4.48 ERA in 66.1 innings thrown in 48 appearances. After the season, on November 19, 2021, the Royals added Snider to their 40-man roster.
Snider was named to the Royals’ opening day roster for the 2022 season.
